I really rattled some cages last week.

I got a Cease and Desist Letter last week from the “People for the Ethical Treatment of Hype Monkeys” (PETHM).

It seems that Hype Monkeys are entitled to the same treatments as everybody else no matter how many emails they send offering to make you insanely rich in 24 hours or less or how may scams they send you.

To make matters worse the monkey firm of Beat’m, Cheatham, & Howe would like for me to issue a statement apologizing from my insensitive comments about their Hype Monkey clients.

The only way to shut the howling Hype Monkey up is to succeed online therefore rending the Hype Monkey Scum powerless.

As a kid I was always waiting for Jim to get mauled by something.
I was a kid back then, what did you think I wanted to see.

There was one show where he almost got mauled by a group of wild
monkeys.  I was on the edge of my seat like every kid in America,
just waiting to see him go down.

So what does this have to do with you, I’m not telling you to shoot
any real monkeys? Right.

What I’m talking are called hype monkeys.

I sick of getting dozens of emails everyday telling me that I can
be rich in 60 days or less if I would only buy their magic formula.

BS and they know it.

If their stuff worked so well, then why are they still working?

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that 100% of these emails are
scams designed to separate you and your money.

But the one thing that I notice is that these scams are all pitched
by the same group of hype monkeys screaming about each other’s
products.

So does anything work on the internet other then these scams?

Well the answer is yes.

But they are really hard to find them because they are covered up
with the hype monkey poop. Hype monkeys try to poop on anything
that might work, because if you bought something that worked you
wouldn’t give the hype monkey your money any more.

I know you have thought the same thing once or twice.

So is there anything that you can use to shut up the hype monkeys?

Well for starters you can just get off their hype monkey email list
and pick just one program and just stick with it.

This is the only thing that can stop a hype monkey, because once
you break free from the hype monkeys chains, the sky will be clear,
the grass will be greener, babies will smile at you, and you can
tell your no good sorry excuse for a boss to shove it & and his
daddy in-law who owns the company.

Do I have a motive for telling you this?

YES, I want you to mail me large amounts of unmarked cash, but
since I don’t think that is going to happen, I should give you some
options on how to succeed online.

Step #1 Don’t do what everybody else is doing. They are broke so
why follow them?

It seems that every time I go to forums all I see is people
bragging how they can make some insane amount of money and you can
to.

The only catch is you have to pay them for the $7 secret squirrel
report that will set you free.

Then the next day these same report sellers are begging for ideas
so they can make their car payment tomorrow. I see this all the
time. I guess the $7 secret squirrel report didn’t work for them,
maybe it might work for you. NOT

Do the opposite of what other people are doing and you will find
you will be much more successful.

If  you have any hype monkeys that you need me to take care of just
forward this email to them and I will have my secret team of hype
monkey specialist sent over to crush their laptops and give them
the secrete truth energy drink.

Listen to me very closely here.

You have to walk before you run.

It’s that simple, and you will not succeed if you try to run first.

PICK A NICHE

Don’t start your first project in a super tough niche and expect to
succeed. You have to start in a small forgiving niche were you can
take over in just a few weeks and control the first page of Google.

No Hype here just facts.

By being in a small niche you can start making some extra money
while you build your knowledge of what works. This is something
that you just have to do because half of what this Guru’s preach
simply will not work.

If it did you would already be John Reese, but since you aren’t
John Reese you are reading this email. But I’m sure John Reese
reads my emails because everything I come up with a new idea he
seems to beat me to it.

Maybe he is spying on me?

Maybe I need to double check the Blog Rush Widget thing!

Don’t pick Golf, dog training, etc.

Pick something like Sudoku. Just the word Sudoku had 2,740,000
people searching for it in September alone through Google.

How many of those people do you need to get to purchase your
product, before you could quit your job?

GET A WEBSITE

Just use Squidoo and WordPress to open a free account.
Simple enough?

Then just get good at finding free traffic sources and start
building your list and making sales today.

If you’re setting there thinking you already know this then why
aren’t you doing it yet?

I’m just as guilty of it as anybody, so I’m not calling names here.

I hope this has helped in some way or at least got you thinking
about what is possible.

It seems that almost every day I get hit with dozens of emails offering me everything from getting rich overnight to being better at golf.

Why, because I can’t believe a word of it. Every product is not perfect for everybody.  If only one person would have come out and just exposed a single flaw I might have been more inclined to take a look at the product.

But NO, these items were pitched to me as the only thing in the world that could make me rich online.

HMMMmmm.

This just makes me think this is just some big old scam.

I got beat up, out and down today while a lot of people got a good laugh at my expense.  If I’m lucky I will not end up as some viral YouTube video, it was that bad and then some.

Ok, anything you can imagine just times 10 worse.

I have spent the last 2 days at the Isle of Palms. I had a lot of fun but yesterday was the first time I had ever seen skimboarding and today was the first time I ever did it.

During my last run of the day I lost control and fell face first off the board. I did a lot of falling today but this time the skimboard ran me over full speed while I was face down in the surf.

Lots of people ran over to help me because it was a nasty fall and then getting run over is not something that happens to most people I guess.

The entire time I was skimboarding there were 9-year-old kids doing this perfectly. They were shooting all over the beach and having fun.

Most of them were really good.

All day I fell off I would just get back on and keep trying until I finally got it.

Now the point of this email is that you have to have a never give up attitude in life and business.

See most people try something and the first time it doesn’t work they just give up on it and never do it again for fear of failure.

As I watched these kids practice some of them would just bust their tails. But they always got back on the boards and kept trying until they got it.

But as adults we want even try it once because we have already made up in our mind we can’t do it before we ever get started.

WOW!

No wonder most people fail.

The truth is there are so many ways to make money online and to live your dreams but we need to leave that circle of safety and really push ourselves to new heights and skills.

That is the only way to learn what we can really do.

I just want to leave you with one last thought.

Ok let’s get back to me helping you make some money!

Another little trick to making money online without your own product is by using a review site.

What in the world is a review site and how can it make me money?

Please pay careful attention to what I’m about to say because it is extremely valuable if you actually use it.

See a review site is just what the name implies it is a review of a product, service or a person.

See review sites are really the workhorses of the Internet. Think about it, go to Amazon.com and find any book and their will most likely be a review of it.

Do you think Amazon knows something about selling that may be you don’t?
 
This is what is called social proof, because we are influenced as much by the actions of others as ourselves.

Don’t believe me?

Did you do something as a teenager because your friends were doing it?  Yes

Where you ever asked if your friends jumped of a bridge would you do it?   Yes

Did you have your first taste of beer because it tasted good or was it because somebody else did it first? Yes

Did you ever buy something because somebody else you has it or recommended it? YES

Do you see were I’m going with this.

This is social proof in action and it doesn’t stop there.

We are just programmed from birth to think this way.  There are so many things going on in your world that your brain has to be selective about what it can process. One of the ways it can shorten the process time is by following what others have done.

It seems safe, right?
 
Now how can social proof help you make more money?

Now lets let’s look at the second issue at hand

I don’t think I ever went online with my credit card in hand looking to spend money on something.

The truth is people naturally don’t get online looking to spend money they go online looking for information and to solve problems they have.

Here’s just more proof of that.

Just look at the number of people doing online research before they ever buy a car, apartment, home, an appliance or about anything you can think of.

They do research before they spend money.

I want to spend two weeks in Mexico this winter, the first thing I did was start looking up information online before I even called a travel agent.

I hope the light bulb clicks on with all the possibilities that are available to you.

Now with that out of the way what is your first thing we need to do to setup a review site?

This will also go for anything you ever do to make some real money and not settle for the table scarps that most people get.
***Find a market that has desperate buyers in a niche***

You want to find buyers who have problems that keep them a wake at night.

Think about all the people getting pick slips in America right now. They have to find a job right?

Look at how many diet books are out there right now. Do you think the next one is going to be any better then the last one?

Go to a local bookstore and ask what is the best selling non-fiction book and you will find a great market.

How about the people who are going into foreclosure? Do they need some kind of help?

How about kids getting into college? How is it going to be paid for?

(MARKETING NOTE- There is some insane money to be made with Commission Junction and Hydra Media when it comes to getting people to sign up for school applications and college loans, go where the money is)

OR

***find a market with people are truly passionate something***

There are certain markets that people would punch you in the face or fight you rather change the brand of golf balls they are willing to use.

Think about Nascar, golf, hockey or football fans, these people will sit in the rain, heat, snow what ever it takes to see there team or driver win.

Think about people who exercise everyday they are passionate and dedicated to it.

My 71-year-old grandmother will scream at the TV when the Atlanta Braves are playing ball telling the player what to do. See knows every players name and number.

She is truly passionate about the Atlanta Braves no matter how good or bad the season is.

So the key is to find a market that you can serve with great information and who is willing to pay for it.

Just a tip here that will save you a lot of time. There is lots of opportunities out there and make sure you go after one that is evergreen. An evergreen market is one that will have a need for your product today as much as they will in the future.

Once you find your market you need to see about creating your site. There are a number of ways to do this.

If you have lots of time and money to waste you can actually create your own review software. The big problem with this is it’s a pain in the behind, it takes a lot of money and if you have any kind of bugs or scripting issues you’re probably going to be stuck.

Or if you have a lot of time and aren’t really concerned about results you can always get some blog plug-in hacked to do reviews. I have been down this route and the issue is plug-ins is not specifically set up to do reviews.  And on top of that word press is not set up as a review platform. WordPress is CMS software and really does not function very well outside of that scope.

The few WordPress plug-ins that I actually got to work with my review sites had one very major disadvantage and that is they weren’t set up to monetize the traffic.

This means I was working hard getting traffic and clicks but there were no money coming in. So you can create reviews if you’re not concerned about making money then the WordPress plug-in is fine. But unfortunately that rules me out.

What you need is a piece of software that is dedicated to doing one thing and one thing only – to make you money setting up review sites. There are some other review type scripts out there the issue is most of whom have serious problems and don’t work and need to be tweaked and will make you want to pull your hair out if you have any left after the first few hours. Time is money and there is no need to set something up if it is not going to work. You have wasted you time and money.

The only one that I’ve ever used that I really like and that has personally made money for me is Review Crusher.
